evocos Provides New Self Service Registrar Portal For Surrey County Council
24th June 2011, Guildford, Surrey: evocos is proud to announce that Surrey County Council is the first council in the UK to take advantage of evocos' new Self Service Registrar Portal solution.
The Self Service Registrar Portal will let citizens book their own registrar appointments online for births, deaths and giving notice of marriages and civil partnerships. Removing the requirement to call the customer services help desk to book these appointments is estimated to provide Surrey County Council with up to 90% cost savings.
The system will use complex rule based workflows to guide citizens through the appointment booking service. The notice of marriage/CP system is the most sophisticated, taking into account the many different questions and processes that citizens must go through before they can book an appointment to give notice. However, although the technology behind the solution uses complex coding, the customer facing interface is intuitive and easy to use.
The self service appointment booking portal means that citizens can book registrar appointments 24/7, which not only provides a better quality service, but will make the access to Surrey County Council registration servicers more efficient.
Judy Williams, Customer Service Improvement Officer at Surrey County Council is looking forward to using this pioneering solution: "We estimate that our cost per appointmentbooking will fall from £6 to 50p. This kind of cost saving is exactly what councils should be doing in the current economic climate. This is an excellent way we can reduce costs, yet provide a better quality service to our citizens."
